About UX+ University

At UX+ University, we empower anyone, regardless of background, to become User Experience professionals in 16 weeks at no upfront cost.

In the 16-week program, we not only teach our students the tools, methodologies, and principles of UX Design but also equip them with the knowledge and skills required to start a fulfilling UX Design career. To achieve this, we conduct live online classes and spearhead hands-on projects, one-on-one mentorship sessions, design reviews, guest lectures, and networking opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Skilled communicator — You express yourself well both in speaking and in writing. You're also a great listener — you pay close attention to the speaker and respond appropriately.
  • Radically candid coach — You create a psychologically safe environment where students share their goals and struggles without judgment. You provide honest feedback, feedback that empowers students to improve themselves or their work.
  • Self-driven work ethic — You need to be a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through to completion.
  • Knowledgeable UX practitioner — You're a UX practitioner who possesses profound knowledge on UX Design. You're familiar with Design Thinking, UX Research methods, UX and UI Design principles, Agile methodologies, Design Sprints, among many other related topics. More importantly, you can communicate these concepts to students in an understandable, digestible manner.

What You'll Do

  • Mentor junior designers — You'll meet students every week (1 hour per mentee) and mentor them on matters related to the lectures or UX careers. Together with students, you'll establish their personal or professional goals, identify areas for improvement, suggest key action points, and keep them accountable in pursuit of their goals. You'll also actively listen their concerns and provide them with honest and constructive feedback.
  • ...and anything else that elevates the student experience — We're always on the lookout for ways to enhance the student experience at UX+ University, whether that's through classroom activities, events, or anything in between. If there's any idea you have in mind, let us know — we're open to suggestions.
